Bolzano is a great all round place for a terrific holiday. Not just in Summer either as skiers flock here when the snow comes. No matter when you come to Bolzano you will be delighted by the sight of it. It nestles at the foot of the mountains and is just so picturesque.

In Springtime there are lots of events happening in Bolzano such as a wine tasting and exhibition at Mareccio castle. Elsewhere you’ll find the Speck festival. Speck is a delicious bacon but there are loads of tasty treats. Add to that some wine, music and dancers and you have an idea of how great it is.

On the cultural side you won’t be disappointed as there are many museums to visit in Bolzano. In particular the Archeological Museum the home of the 5000 year old Ice man, known as Frozen Fritz to the locals. He has his very own section in the museum which is very interesting. The Roman section is good too with its recreated Roman Road to walk on. There are 4 other museums with many things to interest visitors. If you liked the museums then you are sure to love the castles in the Bolzano area. One in particular, called Castle Runkelstein, has medieval themed days which kids love. For a truly amazing view of Bolzano take a cable car ride up to the mountains. The spectacle will take your breath away. There are many hiking, walking and horse riding trails to be enjoyed so you can get to the meadows and forests, another good one for the kids.
